The Day of Giving Thanks

•November 25, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Here we are at Thanksgiving day 2010.  This holiday is by design to be a time when we pause………. recognize what we are thankful for, and then spend it with our loved ones.  Is that really what many of us do?  I mean really do.  I practice this pretty regularly, the pausing and recognizing all that I am grateful for.  Yet today I wanted to do something different.  Not only be thankful, but do something.

By nature I am a doer.  I don’t tend to sit and think on something for a long time.  When I get an idea or am motivated to do something, watch out.  There are 2 choices for others around me when I step into action on a task.  The choices are to collaborate and create something together, or get out-of-the-way.  So today my desire was to do something.  The in essence I wanted to give back something that I am thankful for.  There is nothing like having a home full of food to eat and the opportunity to eat together as a family.

This year the family decided to collaborate together to come up with a way to “give back” a family meal.   Therefore, the entire family (all 7 of us) participated in the Drumstick Dash in Roanoke, VA.  I love the tag line for the race: “move your feet so others can eat”.   It is put on by the Rescue Mission in Roanoke.  It was great!  Every few blocks there was live music from local musicians.  There were folks dressed in Thanksgiving style attire.  Over 10,000 people participated in this event.  Over 350,000 families were fed as a result of this event.  Wow! one person really can impact  many.  To think this event started with an idea of someone.  With group collaboration and a common goal, amazing things can happen.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for you!  We chose to take steps every day to love ourselves and believe in ourselves.  Some times are harder than others.  I encourage you to keep taking one step at a time towards the best you.  Letting our true self shine through is the greatest gift to offer.  By doing so we create a better world for all to live in.

This past year has been an accumulation of small steps to fulfill my dream.  My dream is to make a positive impact on all females.  At times it has felt like I will never get there and no one will see the purpose in my Journey Bracelets and company.  I just keep pushing through.  I would not be at this point without the love and support of my husband, daughter, sons, parents, friends, and amazing people like yourself.  I thank you with every ounce of my being!

Namaste,

Kristin

A gift to say you love her and you believe in her everyday!

•November 19, 2010 • Leave a Comment

The biggest shopping day of the year is 1 week away.  When you go looking for a gift what is it that you look for?  Are you frustrated with so many gifts that are empty in meaning?  Do you have difficulty finding a gift that says how you feel?

I certainly want my gifts to express my love for them.  I want nothing more than to gift my loved ones with something meaningful. What that means in my home is that they have now come to accept homemade gifts.  Some are better than others I must admit.

I have painted T-shirts, to made clocks out of random items, to creating love boxes, and many others!

Nothing is more frustrating than hunting all day to find the gift that says you love them and believe in them. That is precisely why Womanly Journey exists!  I found I love to create gifts that come from the heart.  Wait till they see what I have coming this year 🙂 .  It is coming together!

One of my best created gifts is the Journey Bracelet and Book gift set.

The Womanly Journey Bracelet was born to tell a woman in your life you love her and you believe in her.  The great thing is that you tell her this everyday whether she wears her bracelet or not.  Her gift book is the second reminder that you love and believe in her.

Honoring a woman in your life is cheaper this weekend!  Orders must be made via email to  everything@womanlyjourney.com

All orders made by Sunday 11/21/10 11:59 PM  will receive the following:

  1. Gift bracelet and book set for $40.  That’s 20% off
  2. Free Shipping anywhere in the US

Experience your gift! This is the packaging your love one sees when they open their gift

This is the core bracelet with 3 charms to remind them you love them, you believe in them, and you wish for them to claim their freedom.  Freedom in this way means that you want her to not limit herself and push through her fears to be the woman you see inside her.

By honoring a woman of any age in your life you are creating waves of positivity!  Those waves impact everything and everyone around them.

Lovingly,

Gratitude Note

•November 16, 2010 • Leave a Comment

I have completed my newsletter for this month.  I want to keep gratitude at the forefront of my mind.  We are in the month of Thanksgiving after all.  That is a good reminder.  It is easy to get into the daily routines and neglect to remember what we are grateful for.

Here are a few things that immediately come to my mind that I am grateful for:

  1. The loving hug and kiss goodbye I get from my husband as he leaves for work.
  2. The joy in my dogs as I am serving them breakfast.  I receive a tap dance every morning.
  3. The ease in my daughter’s way in which she prepares for her day
  4. Today my mother is visiting.  I am so grateful for her patience and tolerance of me growing up
  5. For the love my mother has for me and for the greatness she sees in  pursuing my dream
  6. The joy of a great book curled up on the couch with hot tea or diet Pepsi or wine (depending on the day and time)

Your turn!

Sincerely,

Kristin Springfield

Stocked Market

Good morning to all!  This weekend Womanly Journey was a featured vendor at the Stocked Market in Roanoke.  We had great fun and a wonderful response.  It is a delight bringing positive gifts and jewelry to the market!

Thank you to all of those positive buyers!

I had the opportunity to run into an old friend and make some new ones.  It was a delight seeing Kasha again and working with new team members.

I continue to redefine success for myself.  Having the opportunity to share the creation of my heart and soul is something I cherish!

hours in the day…where do they go?

Where exactly does the day go?  I realize we all have 24 hours in a day, but I would like to add 2 more for myself.  I could make a big list of all I do to make it all sound great, but that is then just depressing.  I have a great deal on my plate and so does everyone else.  Some days I feel like I am in slow motion.  Unfortunately time does not slow down.  At times it appears as though time in the day is running at the speed of my electricity meter on the hottest day of the year with the air conditioning running.

Hey there, maybe I am looking at this all wrong.  Maybe cloning myself would be a better option.  My years in management have taught me to delegate and ask for help.  That has been very helpful.  In this new situation of getting a new business up and running there really is not anyone to delegate to.  No employees tend to work for free.  The children tend to get bored after awhile and then are at risk to go on strike.

I love what I am moving to accomplish: create a positive impact on all women’s self-esteem.  I am dreaming BIG here.  It is exhausting at times.  This is a releasing part of today.

I have a 15-year-old who is looking forward to a birthday cake today.  A red velvet with Chocolate icing.  Sounds like an amazing combination.  I am off to bake and listen in to a conference call all in one swoop!

Thank you Mom for my multitasking ability.  It certainly comes in handy.  The most helpful thing for me today is my Journey Bracelet.  Particularly the butterfly woman.  I am the woman in the middle taking flight.  Here I come world!  This time I will be flying!!

Womanly Journey at the Southern Women’s Show in Charlotte, NC

We just finished our first major show.  Wow!  It is an amazing experience.  It is an entirely different world than I have ever been involved in.  Simply standing for 4 straight days for about 10 hours each day was brutal.  Call me a wimp, yet try it yourself.  Within 4 hours I was buying Alegria shoes.  They are worth every penny!

Attempting to get my positive message to all women was incredible!  Talking about my creation and what I am passionate about is right up my alley.  Women were moved by my purpose and my efforts.  Sales were slow at first.  But the end of Sunday we were doing great!  I wanted to keep learning and spreading the message.

Finally stepping into my own purpose is amazing.  It is emotionally difficult as well.  I bump up against every fear I ever had along the way.  I simply keep pushing through.  Meeting up with old fears and discomforts occurred at this event as well.  My amazing husband was a great support at encouraging me to keep going.  Stopping is not an option.

Womanly Journey and my Journey Bracelet have a place in this world for women.  The great women of Charlotte embraced it and are part of my journey.  It was delightful to have the opportunity to share my message with women who were just as excited about it as I am.

Thank you!
